Kids’ Cabaret is a Hingham based non-profit organization that gives local youth a chance to immerse themselves in the art of theater, music, and dance. Kids’ Cabaret provides kids with the opportunity to perform in a full-length musical each summer! This year’s summer musical is “The Wizard of Oz.” This summer, their talented young actors have been hard at work bringing to life the beloved story of Dorothy, Toto, and their journey to the Emerald City!
This year, participation nearly doubled and close to 100 local actors have been working hard all summer to put on a great show!
Each year Kids’ Cabaret staff work behind-the-scenes on the production team and/or work directly with young actors to teach them acting, music, and dance skills. All of their time is 100 percent volunteer and they dedicate most of their summer to the performance each year to spread their love of the arts within the community! Not only does Kids Cabaret inspire a love of the arts in its participants, but it also builds character. Each participating thespian learns group cooperation, individual responsibility, and conflict resolution, among other necessary life skills.
Since the summer of 1989, Kids’ Cabaret has been a safe and encouraging environment for local adolescent theatre-lovers ages 8-16 where they can form strong friendships and make unforgettable memories!
Following is a full slideshow of photos from the dress rehearsal! Performances of “The Wizard of Oz” are this Thursday 7/27, Friday 7/28, and Saturday 7/29 at 7:00 pm ET at the Hingham High School Auditorium.
Tickets are available here for $10; limited tickets may be available at the door but online purchasing is recommended.
