The Girls Soccer team got back on track Friday with a big 9-3 win over Notre Dame Academy. The Harborwomen were coming off their first loss of the season against Plymouth North on Wednesday. The short time off between games didn't affect them at all. The scoring started with junior Olivia Sharkansky followed by goals from freshman Claire Murray, sophomore Kelsy Tarby and a hat trick by sophomore Sophie Reale. Hingham went into half time with a 6-1 lead. They continued to put the ball in the next in the second half with one more goal each for Sharkansky, Reale, and Tarby, giving them the bounce back victory.
"I think when you take it game by game it's a lot easier to stay positive and focus on what's directly in front of you," says Reale, who leads the team in goals with 12.
This isn't the first time this season the Boston College commit has scored 4 goals in a game. She did it back on October 2nd in a 6-0 win against Marshfield.
"I really just want to contribute in any way I can to help my team win, either by scoring or assisting goals," Reale says. "I don't really think about how many goals I score in any given game, I try to focus more on how I can help my team come off the field with a win at the end of the game."
"I think we are all just relieved that we won after a tough loss the game before," Reale added.
In addition to the win, the game saw junior Alex Higgins making her first appearance this year after being sidelined with a serious knee injury.
Next up for the girls is this Tuesday, October 27th when Duxbury comes to Hingham. It's also Senior Night.
