Hurricane Nicole is set to make landfall around Palm Beach, Florida on Thursday, bringing soaking rains and strong winds to much of the Sunshine State.
The storm will weaken on Friday as it curves north, but its remnants will be scooped up by an approaching cold front from the west, sending tropical downpours and gusty winds into New England.
Friday itself will be warm on the South Shore, with temperatures popping close to 70 degrees.
Of course this comes after last weekend's record warmth, which left November's average temperature 14 degrees higher than normal.
In addition to being warm on Friday, it will also be a mostly cloudy day, with rounds of downpours starting to arrive late in the afternoon and evening.
Those tropical downpours will continue to come through in waves Friday night into the very early hours of Saturday, as gusty winds keep pumping in mild air. Expect wind gusts 35-45 MPH.
The morning hours on Saturday will be muggy, and still mild, but by afternoon temperatures and humidity will start to tumble as the sun returns and the storm departs.
Rainfall here in Eastern Massachusetts will generally be around 0.5-1.5", with higher totals in Western New England.
Sunday will be far more typical of Autumn, with highs likely in the low 50s.
