ROBERT EWING FOLEY, JR.
March 5, 2021
Robert Ewing Foley, Jr. “Bob” Of Cedar Park, TX, formerly of Scituate, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 5, 2021.
Forever an “Eagle,” Bob had a passion and love for his alma mater, Boston College (’71). For many years, on any given Saturday, you could find Bob on Shea Field tailgating with his family and friends prior to the Eagles Football team taking the field. Born and raised in Dorchester, he was the eldest son of the late Robert Ewing Foley, Sr. and Margaret Austin Foley. Bob attended Boston Technical High School, matriculated to Boston College, and received his MBA from Northeastern University. He worked for years in the financial services industry as a Chief Financial Officer and later enjoyed teaching finance at Boston College. Bob met his wonderful wife of 49 years, Andrea Santoususso Foley (Andy), at Boston College Freshman Orientation in September of 1967. A highlight of his life was watching his two children follow in his and Andy’s footsteps by attending Boston College (Bobby ’01 and Caitlin ’05).
Loving father to Robert Ewing Foley, III (Bobby) and his husband Anthony Arena-Foley of Quincy, MA, and Caitlin Chiacchia and her husband Lt. Col. (Ret.) James Chiacchia of Georgetown, TX. Bob treasured spending time with his grandchildren, Luke and Charlotte Chiacchia, and step-grandsons, Benjamin, Samuel, and Oliver Chiacchia. Brother of Christopher D. Foley and his wife Linda Such Foley of Enfield, CT, Margaret (Meg) VanCisin and the late Kevin T. VanCisin of West Roxbury, MA, and David A. Foley and his husband Michael Loshaw of Hull, MA. Bob is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and fellow alumni. Bob’s 72 years of life are an inspiration of love, honor, and devotion to his family, friends, church and his dear wife Andrea. His parting words of wisdom to his family were to “have fun.”
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Saturday, June 26 at 11:00am at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish St. Ann Church, 208 Samoset Avenue, Hull, MA.
