With deep roots in the South Shore community, Rick Roche, CEO of local supermarket chain Roche Bros., and his wife Cathy have added to the legacy of the Roche family's philanthropic commitment. The couple presented a $500,000 gift to NVNA and Hospice's Grace Campaign benefitting the Pat Roche Hospice Home, which is named in honor of Rick's late father, the cofounder of Roche Bros.
In honor of its 100th anniversary, NVNA and Hospice launched the Grace Campaign earlier this year to establish a fund for the future that will build on the mission of the Pat Roche Hospice Home and further enhance the agency's Palliative Care Division. Under the leadership of Campaign Chair Jane Steinmetz, Managing Principal, Ernst & Young, the campaign aims to raise $4.5M by 2021. With the Roche family's generous donation, it's more than halfway toward its goal.
"Our family is inspired by the dedication of NVNA and Hospice and the services they provide patients and their families," said Rick Roche. "Our gift is an investment in the Pat Roche Hospice Home for today and for the future."
"NVNA and Hospice is so grateful to the Roches for their outstanding support," said Renee McInnes, RN, CEO of NVNA and Hospice. "Rick and Cathy's generous gift is a milestone in our Grace Campaign, and they've played an instrumental role in our growth over the last decade. We cannot thank them enough for their continued generosity and belief in our mission."
