Area families are invited to gather at The Range Bar & Grille on Sunday, Dec. 19, from 10am - noon where children can meet with Santa and his elves after his special entrance by helicopter.
The Range, a local favorite for all things sports, widely known for its expansive patio and driving range, is owned by local partners Will O’Connell and Jim Bristol. The dining room and bar area are complete with over 30 televisions, including a custom JUMBOTRON at the heart of the restaurant. In-season, the patio area is a community favorite and, new this holiday season, is a private event room, accommodating between 40 and 50 guests for parties, networking events and other special occasions.
Santa is no stranger to The Range, but this season his visit is extra special as plans were cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. “We are thrilled to be bringing the community together at this time of year, especially when we have all recently missed out on so many moments together,” said O’Connell. “There’s nothing like seeing a child’s face light up when they see Santa and we are making it even more unforgettable with this special fly in.”
The event is open to the public and no purchase is necessary. Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate will be served to children and Hingham Police and Fire will be on-site, providing children the chance to Touch-a-Truck.
O’Connell owns and operates a handful of other South Shore establishments, including Granite Links, in Quincy; the Chantey and Waterclub, in Marina Bay; and Hull’s LOCAL 02045. He and Bristol, a well-known area developer and property owner, partnered on The Range back in 2016, and more recently with the Tavern at Weathervane Golf Club, in 2020. Weathervane Golf Club, located in Weymouth, is home to a nine-hole golf course, multiple private event spaces, and a bar area and dining room with chef-inspired cuisine and igloo dining over the winter.
