On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, the HHS Wrestling Team hosted a Veterans Appreciation Night in the gym. Veterans and their families were treated to FREE admission, concessions, and standing recognition. The Hingham Police Department Color was on-hand to Parade the Colors; while student athlete Nick Capodilupo, sang his rendition of the National anthem. Senior Chief Petty Officer Keith Jermyn, USN welcomed the capacity crowd for this now fifth annual event. Chairman of the Board of Selectmen asked for a moment of silence for the recent passing of former Hingham Veterans Council Chaplain John McHugh, and Senator Pat O’Connor expressed his pride in the Hingham HS Veterans Appreciation Club for their continued efforts. The wrestling Team and Booster Parents, asked all that entered that evening for donations to the CPL Christopher J. Orlando, USMC Memorial Scholarship Fund.
At the end of the evening over $525 had been raised in this young man’s name.
