Scott McCulloch

Scott McCulloch passed away on March 12, 2023 in Weymouth after an 11-month duel with colon cancer, at the age of 59.

Son of Judith (Hay) McCulloch and the late Norman W. McCulloch, Scott leaves behind his beautiful wife Bonnie; his two amazing daughters, Brittany and Abigail; the very cutest Wheaten Terrier Coach; his beloved sister, Bonnie Mehrman and her husband, Brian; and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Scott was a lifelong resident of Weymouth. For many years he worked at the Mug ’N Muffin, which he loved and planned to open his own restaurant. As things often happen, he found a new love: that of his parents’ in the auction business at Broad Cove Auctions in Hingham.

Scott learned the auction business at the foot of the master: his father, Norman. Through the years, Scott ran auctions every Monday evening … and studiously prepared the next week’s auction by vacuuming Broad Cove to an inch of its life. He respected his customers and the items he was selling enough to present each in its best life.

Scott loved working in his yard; puttering in the garage with his latest gorgeous vehicle; hovering over his daughters to guide them the best he could; making sure his beloved wife had white wine ready to drink, even though he himself did not drink.

Scott was a kind and generous man. We need more Scotts in our lives.

Visiting hours are this Friday, March 17, 4-7 pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham

Scott’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 18, at 11am, Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham.
