Mild Finish to the Week
After enjoying daytime temperatures in the 60s and 70s to start this week, Thursday will continue the warm stretch.
High temperatures will cruise into the low to middle 70s with a mixture of sun and clouds, offering us more beautiful Autumn weather.
Overnight temperatures will remain well above average too, holding in the 50s. These mild overnights are actually the most surprising part of this month so far. We've been no where near a frost, and we won't be for the foreseeable future.
Friday will bring mostly cloudy skies, which is part of the reason the morning will be seasonably mild. By afternoon highs will pop into the middle to upper 60s, so still pleasant, but not as warm as Thursday.
Split Weekend
The weekend brings some interesting weather changes.
Saturday will still be mild. It'll be another day in the low to middle 70s with a southerly wind pumping in warm air ahead of a cold front. We'll have a blend of sun and clouds, but much of the day will be dry.
Then, the cold front sweeps through Saturday night into early Sunday. That's when we see a band of rain in town, along with a wind shift.
Sunday will be markedly cooler, behind the front, thanks to a blustery northwest wind. Highs on Sunday will only be in the low to middle 60s.
The overnight rain, and lingering morning clouds, will give way to increasing sunshine by afternoon.
Cooler Next Week
Next week will be much more typical of October.
Expect daytime temperatures only near 60s, and overnight temperatures sliding back into the 40s.
This will also help to bring out more foliage on the South Shore, which so far, is running much later than last year.
