South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces open registration for the 10-week spring session of SSC Music Together® Online program, which starts March 8. Families wishing to experience the fun of Music Together before registering are invited to participate in one of two online trial classes on Tuesday, March 2 at 11:30 am or Saturday, March 6 at 10:30 am.
Music Together Online, for children from birth to four, offers a joyful introduction to song, dance and rhythm. The program invites families to participate in 35-40 minutes of joyful music-making through song, dance, and age-appropriate rhythmic activities. This new online version allows not only caregivers, but also grandparents and siblings, to join the fun remotely.
The spring session includes favorite Music Together songs and activities from the Triangle Collection. This includes jumping and jiving with “Allee Galloo,” going to the beach with “Maria Isabel,” and create jazzy rounds with “Hey, Ho, Nobody Home.” In addition to weekly classes, SSC’s Music Together tuition includes materials to use at home, access to the online Family Music Zone, a family newsletter full of resources and music making ideas, and a family line dance. Young music-makers, constantly up and moving and taking in lots of wonderful musical information throughout the session, are encouraged to use homemade instruments and props from around their homes.
According to SSC Music Together Director Karen Peterson, current families are raving about the experience. The King family said, “Music Together Online is so great! Our three and one-year-old are just as captivated by it as when the classes were in person! We love the music, and getting to see Karen and our friends each week! We still get to sing and dance with all our friends, and you get a great CD and music book! Our kids have learned so much from Music Together! We LOVE Music Together Online, and we recommend it to all our friends!”
Parents wishing to sign up for a free trial class should contact Lexi Duprex at a.duprex@sscmusic.org or 781-749-7565 x10.
