South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces its varied lineup of spectacular Conservatory Concert Series (CCS) faculty performances for the 2019/2020 season. Concerts take place at either SSC’s Hingham campus at One Conservatory Drive, or Duxbury campus at 64 St. George Street.
CCS concerts showcase the diverse talents of the Conservatory’s faculty of nearly 100 educator/performers. Admission to the concert is free, helping advance SSC’s mission of expanding access to arts education and performance. All concerts are on Sunday at 4 pm and include a reception where audience members are invited to meet the performers.
The season kicks off on November 3, at SSC’s Duxbury campus, with The Three B’s: featuring music of Beethoven, Brahms and Busoni. SSC faculty members (shown here) Peter Bianca, clarinet, Mark Goodman, piano and Kyung-Nam Oh, cello perform enthralling chamber music, including Brahms’ Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, and Beethoven's Duo for Clarinet and Bassoon (played on clarinet and cello).
On December 8, CCS gets into the festive spirit with Holiday Favorites at SSC’s Hingham campus. The concert celebrates much-loved songs of the season, and features Sarah Troxler, piano, Donald Zook, flute, Jesse Stiglich, drums, and Holly Jennings, voice.
In 2020, SSC’s piano department faculty take center stages on February 2 in Duxbury, as they present their Piano Department Festival, led by Piano Department Chair Sarah Troxler.
SSC alum are featured on March 15, as CCS presents SSC Alumni celebrate SSC’s 50th Anniversary! in Hingham. Among the celebrated musicians is past Concerto Competition Zac West, clarinet, who is currently an MM student at Indiana University.
