South Shore Conservatory (SSC) welcomed Dawn Stancavish of Marshfield to their Board of Trustees at their Annual Meeting in November. Stancavish is Chief Innovation Officer and COO of Massa Products Corporation in Hingham.

“For years, Dawn has been an integral part of the SSC family,” said SSC Interim President Deborah Allinson. “As a child she was active at the Conservatory, taking percussion lessons and drama here. As an SSC parent and overseer, she has brought positive energy to our Governance Committee and Overseers Leadership Council. We are thrilled to welcome her to our Board, and cannot wait to see the new ideas she’ll present.”

Third generation at Massa Products, Stancavish serves to develop the Electroacoustics business both internally and externally, and is in charge of all Massa Products’ New Product Development, Innovation, and Marketing. She serves as the liaison between the needs of the industrial/consumer world and the technical capabilities of Massa. In addition, she is a published writer and artist, and continues to study percussion at SSC. Dawn also holds a master’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Systems Dynamics from Fairleigh Dickinson; and a Certificate in Finance from Harvard Business School.

“There are no accidents in life, despite what we may think,” said Stancavish. “There is no doubt that my childhood became greatly enriched because of my personal relationship with SSC. I have watched SSC develop to become much more than a theater and music school. There is no doubt that SSC has provided greater opportunities for thousands of children and families. It is also one of my favorite organizations to support because of the tangible results - when you give, you see and know that it has immediately helped someone learn how to improve their life!”

“By now joining the Board of Trustees, it is my hope that I can learn more about where SSC is today, and where I might be able to help it go in the future.  Professionally strategy and systematic thinking are my strong points in my business. For years my heart has been a part of SSC, now I am excited to lend my ears and share my mind in ways that can hopefully aid in aligning SSC goals with strategies that have beneficial results,” said Stancavish.

SSC feels fortunate to have a very committed, hands-on Board of Trustees.  Members help oversee and govern the school, create strategic plans, and support the faculty and staff.
