As of Friday morning, about 250 Hingham customers remained without power, down from about 6,500 on Wednesday, according to a recent Town of Hingham News Flash.
Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant crews will be working until midnight tonight, Friday, and will continue to work over the weekend.
The plan to assist residents who are still without power was for the Senior Center at Town Hall to remain open until 5 p.m. today, Friday. The town library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday for anyone who would like a warm place to stay for a while or to charge their cell phones and other devices.
The News Flash expressed appreciation for HMLP, the DPW, and public safety teams "for working tirelessly over the last few days to restore power and clear downed trees throughout Hingham."
Residents are asked to check on their neighbors and friends until the clean-up is complete.
