The Trustees of Reservations (The Trustees) today announces the return of the Summer Send-Off at World’s End on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 5PM. Building upon the popularity of the Trustee’s annual Solstice picnic in June, this highly-anticipated community celebration features music by Boston’s premier Bob Marley tribute band, the Duppy Conquerors, a delicious line-up of local food, ice cream, and beer trucks, and the best sunset on the South Shore.
Visitors experience the unique thrill of driving out on the World’s End carriage roads, designed by Frederik Law Olmstead in 1890, to set up their blankets and picnics on the top of Planter’s Hill. This year, they may enjoy a snack from KCs Curbside Bistro, TamBo’s Kitchen, and Thyme Traveling food trucks and ice cream from Ellie’s Treats. Vitamin Sea will be serving up craft brews.
Featured band, the Duppy Conquerors, is a rich collection of high-caliber musicians playing in tribute to the music of Bob Marley. Nominated for a Boston Music Award, this 10-piece ensemble of veteran musicians embodies a soulful authenticity that honors the artist and his timeless collection. With nearly 80% of Marley’s repertoire under their belts, the Duppy Conquerors are equipped to provide hours of entertainment and positive vibrations.
The event starts at 5:00PM with gates opening to visitors at 4:30PM. Cost of admission is $60 per vehicle, $48 per vehicle for Trustees members. Field parking is included in registration, with a limited number of accessible spots upon request. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, August 27. Pre-registration is required.
