Suspect Identified After Assault and Battery at Derby Street Shops

Hingham Police have identified a suspect wanted for two counts of assault and battery that occurred at the Derby Street Shops.

On Monday October 14, 2024, Hingham Police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at the Derby Street Shops.  Responding officers were informed that a male had walked up to two different unsuspecting people and struck them, causing the victims to fall to the ground. The victims were not together and the assaults happened in different locations.  The suspect was last seen running towards Derby Street.  Both victims sustained minor injuries.  Neither victim knew who the suspect was.  Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

After an investigation the suspect has been identified as Mark Buntrock, age 43, 248 S Windsor St, South Royalton, VT.  An arrest warrant has been issued out of Hingham District Court for: 1) Assault and Battery 2) Assault and Battery

Anyone that comes into contact with Buntrock or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact the Hingham Police.
