Effective last Friday, we temporarily suspended all programs in which participants cannot space at least 3 feet from each other, this includes any program at a card table; including scrabble, mah jongg, cribbage, bridge, dominos and slammers. We are eliminating food and beverage consumption from any program in which participants cannot space six feet from one another. iPad lessons are also cancelled this month. These suspensions will be re-evaluated on January 24th.
The luncheon event scheduled for Thursday will now be a grab and go. As of this morning we still have 14 slots available. To register for this event please call us at 781.741.1458.
Masks are mandatory while in the senior center and while using our transportation services. They must be worn at all times regardless of vaccination status. This mandate is to keep you and our staff safe while you are here and to prevent the spread of the virus. This will also help prevent future program suspensions.
I want to also take this opportunity to thank Kathy Glenzel for her service to Hingham through her role here at the senior center. Over the last 15 years, Kathy worked as the Benefits Coordinator for the Town and as our Outreach Coordinator. Kathy's last day is tomorrow as she is retiring. Through her role she has helped countless senior residents find resources and services to meet their needs so they can age in place in their own home. Kathy's dedication, passion, experience and professionalism will be impossible to match. We wish her the best in whatever her next adventures lie ahead.
