Come stroll the streets of downtown Hingham as we celebrate culture, community and creativity at the 19th Annual Hingham Arts Walk on Sunday, October 20th from 12 – 4.  Artists will be set up along the sidewalks showcasing their artwork, hosting demonstrations, and selling their pieces.

“We are looking forward to a fantastic day of art and community,” says Amy Brown, the Director of the Hingham Downtown Association, “In bringing our artists and businesses together we celebrate the arts, entrepreneurship, and community, and with the support of our sponsors, Linden Ponds and the Hingham Arts Alliance, it makes for a rich collaboration of people, art and ideas.”

Ann Marie Schembri, co-founder of the HIngham Arts Alliance, shares in the excitement, saying, “The Hingham Arts Alliance is thrilled to be a sponsor of the Hingham Arts Walk again this year. This event aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance support, advocacy and awareness for the arts in all of its forms at both the school and community levels.  We believe that fostering a vibrant arts scene not only enhances our community’s cultural landscape but also provides spaces for self-discovery and connection with others.”

In addition to our talented visual artists, the Arts Walk will feature a performance tent with an exciting lineup. Arrive at noon sharp to catch Brian Cincotta and the Hingham High School Band as they open the event with the triumphant “Into the Clouds!” by Richard Saucedo. Stay to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment with performances by percussionist Ed Sorrentino from the South Shore Conservatory, The Coastal Dance Academy, Hingham High Drama, Hingham Civic Music Theatre, The Hingham Singers, Spotlight Music and Theater Academy, The Grand Ukers of the Center for Active Living, and The Academy of the Company Theatre.

Also, for the first year ever, there will be a community mural at The Boston Artistry, as well as a Gourd Gallery along Station Street. All ages are welcome to bring their completed gourd or pumpkin work of art to put on display the day of the Arts Walk. In addition to artists, live performances, demonstrations, public art, and workshops, both the Hingham Historical Society Museum and Old Ship Church will be open.
