On Saturday evening, March 28th, the Hingham High stage should have been lit up, featuring the talents of Foster Elementary school students. But, like many events that were scheduled this Spring, the 4th annual Foster School Talent Show was cancelled and with it, the chance for students to entertain their school community. This reality did not sit well with us, the Talent Show Team, so we set our sights on moving the show online. On May 3rd, the show debuted on a protected YouTube channel.
The students stepped up…and not just students. Parents became videographers. Siblings joined in and acts became family acts. Teachers submitted their good wishes to the performers. There was even a cameo from Raymond Slater, a producer from the nationally-syndicated Bobby Bones Show. Finally, the Talent Show became the venue where students school wide could send messages of gratitude to their teachers as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. All in all, the show featured over 30 performers, a 5th grade emcee team, and appreciation messages from over 180 students. It was so nice to “see” everyone again!
Proceeds from the show go directly to support the art and music programs at Foster School. This year, 25% of funds donated will also support local front line organizations. To date, the show has raised nearly a thousand dollars.
If you’d like to give, you can venmo your donation to @Foster-PTO and note “Talent Show.” Thank you for your generosity!

We are tremendously proud of our performers this year. It’s hard enough to get up on the high school stage. But to think you’re getting up there, then be told the show is shifting to an online format and you might have to change your entire act…? That requires some real showmanship and our students shined.
It is a privilege to support these students, support the arts and hopefully, share some joy with our community.
