The Not-So-Spooky Haunted House is back this year at St. John the Evangelist True to its name, this fun Halloween experience is perfect for kids of all ages. It is especially geared for those in early elementary and pre-school. The haunted house opens this Friday and runs Friday and Saturday evenings through October 22. On the first Saturday, guests with special needs are welcome to come early to enjoy the event with fewer crowds. Tickets are $5 per person, with a maximum of $20 per family.

The haunted house features Freddy the Friendly Ghost and his friends, including a potion-brewing witch and the pirates of Hingham’s haunted harbor. At the end of the haunted house, guests enjoy donuts, cider and festive games and crafts. Costumes are welcome but not required.

This event launched in 2016 and quickly became a highlight of the Halloween season for Hingham and beyond, drawing thousands of visitors from as far away as Boston and Plymouth. It shut down in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. “We’re so happy to bring this event back,” said Hingham resident Dan Fickes, who designed the haunted house. “It will be a treat to have repeat visitors and to introduce Freddy to a whole new group of kids who were babies the last time we did this.”

St. John’s Not So Spooky Haunted House, 172 Main Street, Hingham October 14, 15, 21, and 22, 5:00 – 7:00pm (10/15, 4:30 open for guests with special needs).
