On Sunday, June 5, 2022 - Over 116 golfers enjoyed a spectacular day of golf and events to celebrate the South Shore Country Club’s Centennial Year organized by the Friends of the South Shore Country Club (FSSCC).

Golfers started the day with a breakfast reception donated by the SSCC Women’s Golf Association (WGA) before heading out on the course at 9:00am. Not only did the golfers enjoy the fantastic weather, but they also noted the course has never looked better! This is due in large part to SSCC Golf Superintendent Jake Silva’s multiyear plan to restore the SSCC to its original 1922 design. This spring the FSSCC funded the improvements to the 15th Tee based on this shared vision. Click here to read more about these improvements.

The tournament concluded with a delicious lunch reception catered by Raffael’s and entertainment provided by Frank Drake’s Bluegrass Trio (with a special guest performance by FSSCC President - Patty McDonald). Each tournament participant received a limited edition 100th Anniversary golf vest along with a keepsake picture of the South Shore Country Club from 1922.

The FSSCC would like to Thank Chris Riley, SSCC Golf Pro and Mike Libby, Assistant SSCC Golf Pro for their expertise and time, along with Peter Smith and Larry Matton for co-chairing the event. Click here to see tournament results and additional pictures.
