The Library’s Dolphin Gallery currently features the photography of Steven Edson. The exhibit, The Art of the Automobile, will be on display through November 30. Edson says “As a photographer, I attempt to visually describe moments in transition while observing the complexity and vastness of the land, people, and objects within constantly changing conditions. For these brief moments, time stands still for eternity.”

“My car photography illustrates the exquisite precision of bent metal and chrome to conform to a designer’s vision for the efficiencies of aerodynamics combined with the beauty of timeless style. Within this series, I use the camera to highlight and celebrate the industrial nature of car design both in its abstraction and the transformation cars undergo in different lighting and environmental atmospheric conditions.”

Happily Ever After by Theona Yianasmidis

The Library’s Clemens Gallery features Theona Yianasmidis’s exhibit The World through My Eyes. The exhibit will be on display through November 30.

Theona Yianasmidis is a self-taught painter whose ideas can come from anywhere, or anything she sees or dreams about. She can look at anything and find beauty. She likes paintings that make you think, and she can look at her work and see the emotions and ideas she was feeling at the time she was painting.

Theona is a personal chef and frequently visits the library to enjoy the gallery exhibits and to borrow new cookbooks for fresh ideas. She is excited for this opportunity to exhibit her paintings so they can be enjoyed by others.
