It may still be cold outside, but it looks like spring inside Linden Ponds, an Erickson Senior Living community in Hingham, Mass.

“A Touch of Spring,” created by Linden Ponds residents, includes real gardens inside the community.

“We have had Touch of Spring for 14 years, minus the past two years, so this year the residents took it to another level,” said Molly Lynch St. John, community resources manager, Linden Ponds. “Marty Saunders, a Linden Ponds resident who was instrumental in coordinating this event every year, recently passed away. This year a group of residents worked with Marty’s daughter Leigh to create the designs and determine this year’s concept.”

Touch of Spring lasts a week inside Linden Ponds and includes real flowers, plants, and much more. A statue of the Hindu God, Shiva – the destroyer of darkness, is featured in the most extensive garden. This year’s theme is “Gardens Bring Light into our Hearts.”

“Marty’s daughter watched her mother’s dream come true again with the help of Linden Ponds grounds crew and the group of residents,” said Lynch St. John. “All of the residents and staff worked very hard to put this together in memory of Marty to continue her legacy.”
