There's more action on the Town election front!
There's now a four-way race for three School Committee seats -- Joshua Ross, Nancy Correnti, and incumbents Carlos DaSilva and Elizabeth (Liza) O'Reilly, who all returned their completed nomination papers. Committee member Kay Praschma has not yet taken out papers, and has announced on social media that she will not be running for re-election.
There are also two potential races for the April 27 election -- for Town Moderator and Health Board. Town Moderator Michael Puzo took out nomination papers for reelection, and Megan Buhr also pulled papers for that position. If both return their papers there will be a race for that seat.
Kirk Shilts took out and returned nomination papers for both his Board of Health and Sewer Commission seats. If Monica Staples, who took out papers for Health Board recently, returns hers there will be a race for that position.
Sarah Melia, who decided not to run for another term on the Recreation Commission, supports Ryan Lynch, who took out papers for her seat recently. "I was the second to sign his nomination papers," she said. " It was a pleasure to serve on the commission. My main reason for supporting Ryan is because the commission is going to be focusing on fields issues, and he's very involved with youth sports."
Zoning Board of Appeals member Joseph Fisher returned his nomination papers for Selectman Paul Healey's seat. Healey, whose term also expires this year, has still not confirmed whether or not he will run for another three-year term.
Thomas Patch took out papers for the Planning Board seat currently occupied by Jennifer Gay Smith, whose five-year term expires this year. Gay has not taken out papers so far.
Board of Assessors member Christine Roberts also pulled papers, as did Roger Freeman for his Municipal Light Board seat and Robert Keyes for his expiring Housing Authority position.
