In the Clemens Gallery

The Hingham Library is pleased to be welcoming Patricia Laliberte to the Clemens
Gallery. Her exhibit, titled Sunset to Sunrise - The Night Sky, opens on Saturday, Oct. 9
and continues through Thursday, Nov. 4.

Patricia Laliberte has been an art educator for 57 years with experience teaching
students from pre-school to high school as well as senior center students. She currently
volunteers as art instructor at the Cohasset and Hingham Senior Centers.

She has degrees in Art Education and Expressive Therapies and she has done
extensive course work and study of Art, Art Education, and Art History at a variety of
schools and museums here and in Europe.

Laliberte says her “preferred medium is soft pastel, and due to my love of nature and
the out-of-doors, my subjects are predominantly local landscape scenes.  I often work
on a series of paintings on the same subject - a wonderful way to learn the subject ‘in
depth’. Having been intrigued by the sky since childhood, it seemed to be the time to do
a sky series - I limited my observations and paintings of the sky to a 'dusk to dawn’
series.”

In the Dolphin Gallery

The Hingham Library is pleased to be welcoming Donna Rossetti-Bailey to the Dolphin
Gallery. Rossetti-Bailey’s exhibit, Unfinished Business, opens on Saturday, Oct. 9 and
continues through Thursday, Nov. 4. The show is sponsored by the North River Arts
Society, and the public is invited to an opening reception on Thursday, Oct. 21 from
5:30-7:30 p.m.

About the exhibit Rossetti-Bailey says: “Like so many other events in the past 18
months, this exhibit, originally scheduled for July 2020, was postponed due to the
pandemic. Life as we all knew it had come to a screeching halt and many things were
left undone. The title of this show Unfinished Business touches on that theme and the
many paintings I worked on before and during these past months...and the many more
yet to be painted!”

Pastel landscape artist Donna Rossetti-Bailey of Marshfield, MA, has been an art
instructor for 46 years since graduating from Boston University’s School of Fine Arts in
1974. She taught in the award winning art program at the Rockland Public Schools for
23 years. Now, for the past 21 years she has been teaching pastel painting and drawing
classes to adults at private arts organizations.

Donna has also instructed workshops at the national, regional, and local levels. She has
won numerous awards for her soft pastel paintings and is a member of several art
associations. Donna has received the prestigious Masters Circle Award from the
International Association of Pastel Societies and Master Artist status at the Cape Cod
Art Center.
