In the true spirit of the holiday season, the Wahlburgers Dorchester team, led by Chef Paul Wahlberg of Hingham, donated 100 freshly made meals to Carney Hospital today in partnership with Hingham-based business - Call to Action.

The local swimsuit company was set to launch in March 2020, but Call to Action used the delay in their opening caused by the pandemic to source materials, design, and manufacture hospital gowns for local Boston hospitals instead.  Today, the two Hingham companies came together to make the donation to staff at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA in support of their incredible contributions to the community this year as they’ve cared for patients battling COVID-19.

“When we heard what Call to Action was doing to support local hospitals, we wanted to offer to help out the best way we know how, through providing warm meals,” said Chef Paul Wahlberg. “Giving back to the heroes battling this virus each and every day is a top priority for us,” he continued.

“Partnering with Wahlburgers was a no brainer for us.  Two local brands who have being a good corporate citizen woven into their DNA makes for the perfect partnership.  We realize our healthcare workers have been working tirelessly to care for our communities during this pandemic – in many instances in fear of not having enough PPE,” shares Dan Rakauskas, CEO of Call to Action Clothing and Hingham resident. “We knew immediately that we could leverage our design and manufacturing capabilities to create thousands of reusable gowns for these brave men and women and we’re honored to support our local hospitals.”

This past spring, Wahlburgers fed nearly 30,000 frontline heroes through its #WhateverYouNeed program. The teams here in MA (with restaurants in Boston, Dorchester, Hingham and Lynnfield) are proud to continue serving their local communities by partnering with Call to Action to provide their famous “Our Burgers” and fan-favorite tater tots to the healthcare workers at Carney Hospital.
