The boys and girls teams race against Duxbury and Tabor in the Second Annual Salty Bow Sprints.
Stop by Bare Cove Park this Saturday, April 30 to see the Hingham High School Crew team take on Tabor Academy and Duxbury High School in the Second Annual Salty Bow Sprints Regatta.
The races kick off at 10 a.m. on the Back River and will continue until 2 p.m. Hingham’s girls and boys teams will compete in eight-boats (eight rowers and a coxswain). The HHS Crew team is ranked third in the state by the Massachusetts Public Schools Rowing Association (MPSRA).
In addition to the races, the team will also christen its three new Vespoli 8-boats that arrived just in time for the spring season, thanks to a grant from the Hingham Sports Partnership (HSP) and fundraising efforts by the Hingham High School Rowing Association (HHSRA), a nonprofit that fully funds and operates the HHS Crew team.
HHSRA will be grilling up hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and sausages at the event. They will also be selling Salty Bow t-shirts, and hosting a 50/50 raffle as well as the Buy a Boat by the Foot fundraiser to continue to update the team’s aging fleet of boats. Supporters can add their name, business, or a saying to the side of one of the new boats. The Salty Bow Sprints is sponsored this year by Sonya Franklin Real Estate.
Stroll through Bare Cove Park tomorrow and cheer on our hometown crew team!
