At one time Rizzotto’s Super Market took up two side-by-side shops on South Street in Hingham Square. When they moved up South Street, the Hingham Camera Shop moved in on the left and the Hingham Optical Shoppe on the right. Later The Heidi Shop, owned by Helen Bornheim, moved in on the right from the family business in South Hingham on September 25, 1953. At the time, the Hingham Photo Service was on the left, but Warren Noble bought the business and changed the name to the Hingham Camera Shop. Then when he moved up to the corner, Helen added his space to hers. In the beginning. Helen Bornheim sold the jewelry made by her silversmith father Henry and personally selected most of the gift items and home accessories she sold. The Heidi Shop closed its doors in October of 1997 after doing 44 years of business in Hingham Square. This photo was taken in 1977 by Geri Duff.
