In what Principal Rick Swanson called "Miracle on Ice Redux" in a tweet after the game last night, the Harborwomen shocked the MIAA hockey world by upsetting top seed and undefeated HPNA in their own building during the open playoff round contest.  Sophomore Lilly Thrun opened the scoring in the 1st period giving Hingham the early 1-0 lead.  3 minutes later, HPNA tied it up 1-1.

It stayed 3-2 most of the second period until Sophomore Kathryn Karo tied it up 3-3 with 3 minutes left in the period.  Less than a minute later, HPNA scored again for a 4-3 lead.  Then, just about half way through the third period, Karo scores again on a short handed goal.

With the game tied 4-4 after regulation, both teams prepared prepared to play four on four OT hockey.  Just 1:54 into OT, Freshman Piper Jordan buried the puck past the HPNA goalie to give the Harborwomen the improbable win. The team started the season by beating the defending Vermont state champions and now they've defeated the top team in Massachusetts.  No matter what happens next, it's been an unforgettable season.  The Harborwomen continue their journey on Saturday night against rival Duxbury at the Canton Ice House.  Puck drops at 6:00pm.
